Summoned to Appear
The Guatemalan who made an official complaint against the Torrevieja Police has been summoned to give his side of the story to the court in two weeks time. During his appearance, he will be allowed to modify his original allegations as well as be questioned by the judge and lawyers for all the parties in the dispute. The original complaint dates from June last year when the Guatemalan was taken by surprise as he attempted to force his way into the home of an officer of the Municipal Police, who detained him as well as his girlfriend who allegedly was serving as a lookout. Once in the local police station, he alleges that both he and his girlfriend were subject to blows and other pressure by members of the local force, and in the process had two ribs broken.
