Xativa Fellowship Club

Xativa Fellowship Club was formed just over a year ago as a meeting place for English speaking people of any Nationality.

The idea was that we should offer a friendly hand and enjoy the lighter side of life, and perhaps raise a little money for charity.

Over the past twelve months the club has grown steadily and members have been able to enjoy a diverse programme, including coffee mornings, quiz nights, a treasure hunt, speakers and a murder/mystery play.

The recently formed ‘menu del dia’ club has become a popular event as members and their guests meet for a good old natter – and some good food.

2006 looks like being an even better year with even more people showing an interest in joining the club.

At the beginning of January we are having a special menu del dia at our usual venue, Kiosk Moncho on the Avenida de Selgas in Xativa when we will be joined by the Manager of a local Bank who will guide us through the mysteries of Spanish Banking..

This is to be followed on 18th January by a coffee morning at the home of Barry Waterfall, and another meeting of the menu del dia club on the 26th January, in Canals.

Regular meetings begin again on 1st February at 8 pm, with the Annual General Meeting, followed in March by a talk on ‘Old Xativa’ by a local historian.

If you are new to the area and want to make friends – or if you have been here ages and your old friends have moved away – why not come along and give us a try.  The first meeting is free of charge.

Annual subscription is 17 euros; there is no charge for children.
